Army finds arms-making factory in Sitakunda, four arrested

The Bangladesh Army has found an arms-making factory in a remote part of Salimpur Union under Sitakunda Upazila of Chattogram.

Acting on intelligence, army personnel from the Sindukchhari zone under Khagrachhari’s Guimara Region carried out a special operation on Saturday (August 30) and arrested four terrorists at the factory.

According to the army, they seized six homemade guns, 35 empty cartridges, five live cartridges, a Chinese hatchet, 20 knives, two walkie-talkies with chargers, a megaphone, four parachute flares, and various other tools and equipment used for manufacturing weapons. The arrested terrorists will be handed over to the police.

The army also stressed that operations to fight terrorism will continue in the future.
