Army finds secret hideout of UPDF in Khagrachhari
A joint operation led by the army to rescue 5 students of Chittagong University is underway in Khagrachhari. During the operation, the army has found a hideout of the UPDF, a regional armed organization in the hills, in a remote area.
On Monday (April 21) morning, a raid was conducted in Surendra Karbaripara and Purna Karbaripara of the remote Bhaibonchhara of the district headquarters and a hideout of the UPDF (popular) regional group was found.
During the search, a large amount of training and official equipment used by the UPDF was recovered. The recovered equipment also includes laptops, cameras, walkie-talkies, mobile phones, etc.
It is learned that 7 people were detained as suspects during the operation and released after interrogation.
Incidentally, 6 people, including 5 students of Chittagong University, were abducted from the Giriful area of Khagrachhari Sadar on Wednesday (April 16). Since the abduction, a joint operation led by the army has been underway to rescue them.
There has been no progress in rescuing the abducted students even after 6 days. The Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti a regional organization, has been blaming the Prasit Group for the abduction incident since the beginning. However, the UPDF has been denying its involvement in the incident.
