The Bangladesh Army has conducted a special operation on a training camp of the Bom Party (so-called Kuki-Chin) in the remote Reng Tlang area near the border in Ruma Upazila, Bandarban.

The month-long operation was carried out from July 25 to August 26. During the operation, various weapons and equipment were seized.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate confirmed the information in a press release on Wednesday (September 3).

According to ISPR, after the army patrol team identified the camp in an uninhabited border area, an extensive search was conducted. The operation recovered wooden rifles used for training, sniper ceiling equipment, military belts, cartridge belts, pouches, uniforms, boots, blankets, walkie-talkie chargers, solar panels, rations, and various other military supplies.

In addition, the army took control of the training ground, firing range, trenches, and strategic installations located within the camp.

The Bangladesh Army has stated that it is committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property of all ethnic communities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. ISPR also emphasised that strict operations against armed groups will continue in the future.
