Army support crucial to ensure peaceful polls: CA

Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday (Novemember 19) said that assistance from the Bangladesh Army is crucial to ensure a peaceful, festive and joyful national election.

He made the remarks while addressing the graduation ceremony of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) Course-2025 at Mirpur Cantonment, where he handed certificates to military officers from 24 countries including Bangladesh.

A total of 311 officers from countries such as China, India, Pakistan and Turkey took part in the course.

Speaking on the upcoming national election, Dr. Yunus said the nation has long awaited this vote and the goal is to hold it in a calm and celebratory environment. “To make that possible, we earnestly seek the support of our Army,” he added.

He also praised the Army’s role during the July mass uprising, saying they “took the right decision at the right time,” for which he expressed deep appreciation.
