Army urges public not to be misled by fake posts circulating on social media

The Bangladesh Army has urged the public not to be misled by fake and provocative information circulating on social media, where the name, title, or photos of army personnel in uniform are being misused.

The Army issued the alert in a notification on its verified Facebook page on Saturday night (September 6).

Recently, it has been observed that a group is deliberately spreading misleading and provocative posts using the name, title, or images of army personnel. According to the army’s policy, using the identity or photos of any army member in uniform on social media is strictly prohibited, the notification read.

Therefore, the general public is urged to exercise caution when encountering such fake and misleading posts and to report any relevant information to the army if necessary, it added.
