Arrest Selim Osman or else BNP will take action: Tipu

Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP member secretary Yusuf Khan Tipu has said BNP leaders and activists will themselves arrest former MP Selim Osman if police fail to do so. His remarks have sparked political tension in the area.

Tipu made the comment at a discussion and milad event at the Barofkal field in Narayanganj city on Wednesday afternoon, June 3, organised to mark the death anniversary of late president Ziaur Rahman.

Speaking at the event, Tipu criticised the police and claimed that Selim Osman continues to hold meetings at his Wisdom factory. "If you do not arrest Selim Osman in the coming days, then we BNP leaders and activists will bring him in ourselves," he said.

He further said that attempts to destabilise Narayanganj from Wisdom will not be tolerated.

Wisdom, the industrial enterprise owned by Selim Osman in Fatullah, has long been a subject of political discussion and allegations. BNP leaders claim that despite the change of government, Selim Osman remains in the country and occasionally visits his factory to hold political meetings.
