Arsonists torch Grameen Bank branch in Bogura

Miscreants set fire to the nameplate of Grameen Bank’s Gauradaha branch in Sherpur of Bogura early Sunday (November 16).

No significant damage was reported, officials said.

Branch manager Md. Robiul Islam noticed burn marks on the nameplate in the morning, the organisation's officials confirmed.

The bank’s night guard, Mojibur Rahman, was asleep inside the office during that time.

Sherpur Police OC SM Moinuddin said authorities are investigating the incident and will take legal action against those responsible.

A video of the incident circulated on social media, though the arsonists remained obscured.
