Ashik Chowdhury appointed Invest Bangladesh Authority chairman for one year
The government has appointed Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun as chairman of the Invest Bangladesh Authority on a contractual basis for one year.
The appointment was announced in a notification issued by the Contract and Foreign Employment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration on Friday (August 21). His tenure will begin from the date he joins the post.
The notification said Ashik Chowdhury was appointed under Section 8(5) of the Invest Bangladesh Act, 2023. He will serve as chairman of the Invest Bangladesh Authority under the Prime Minister's Office.
Under the terms of the appointment, he will not be allowed to engage in any other profession or business. He must also relinquish any employment or professional association with any government, semi-government or private organisation.
His salary, allowances and other benefits will be determined through a formal contract, according to the notification. The appointment was made in the public interest.
The notification was signed by Deputy Secretary Md Golam Rabbani of the Ministry of Public Administration on behalf of the President.
In his new role, Ashik Chowdhury will lead the authority's investment-related activities and contribute to the government’s initiatives aimed at promoting investment in Bangladesh.
