Asif Mahmud joins marathon held to commemorate July Uprising
A symbolic marathon was held in the capital on Friday morning (July 18) to commemorate the historic July-August Uprising. Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, also took part in the marathon alongside the participants.
His involvement was confirmed through a post on his official Facebook page.
The event, organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, began at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Old Trade Fair Grounds and saw spontaneous participation from runners of various age groups.
Participants welcomed the initiative, expressing interest in more such events to engage the youth in commemorating important national movements.
The marathon concluded peacefully, with visible enthusiasm among the runners. The July-August Uprising remains a significant chapter in Bangladesh's history, and the ministry's effort aims to raise awareness of its importance among the younger generation.
