Asif Nazrul’s comments not official response to ICC: BCB
Due to security concerns, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed reluctance to play the upcoming T20 World Cup in India. They have sent multiple letters to the ICC regarding the matter.
BCB stated that the three security concerns mentioned by Sports Adviser Asif Nazrul are part of ICC’s internal inter-departmental review and do not constitute an official ICC response.
In a press release, BCB said, “The letter referred to by the Sports Adviser pertains to internal communication between BCB and ICC’s security department. It was sent to assess security risks for the Bangladesh team ahead of the T20 World Cup. This letter should not be considered an official response from ICC.”
The board added that they officially informed ICC of their venue concerns and requested that Bangladesh’s matches be held outside India, but have not yet received any formal response. BCB continues to maintain communication and awaits an official reply.
