The police have recovered the hanging body of an ASI from the washroom of Chawkbazar police station barrack in Chattogram. Colleagues found the body of Ahidur Rahman in the washroom of the ASI barracks on the second floor of the police station. They then informed the police. Later around 1:15 pm on Sunday, the body was recovered and taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. The hospital authorities said that after being taken there, the doctor declared him dead after conducting tests. The deceased ASI Ahidur Rahman was a resident of Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali.

চট্টগ্রামের চকবাজার থানা ব্যারাকের ওয়াশরুম থেকে এক এএসআইয়ের ঝুলন্ত মরদেহ উদ্ধার করেছে পুলিশ। রোববার সকালে থানার তৃতীয় তলায় এএসআই ব্যারাকের ওয়াশরুমে অহিদুর রহমানের মরদেহ দেখতে পান সহকর্মীরা। এরপর তারা বিষয়টি পুলিশকে জানান। পরে বেলা পৌনে ১টার দিকে মরদেহ উদ্ধার করে চট্টগ্রাম মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে নেওয়া হয়। হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষ জানায়, সেখানে নেওয়ার পর পরীক্ষা–নিরীক্ষা শেষে চিকিৎসক তাকে মৃত ঘোষণা করেন। নিহত এএসআই অহিদুর রহমান নোয়াখালীর কবিরহাট উপজেলার বাসিন্দা ছিলেন।
