Attack on Osman Hadi is blow to Bangladesh’s existence, democracy: CA
Chief Adviser (CA) Dr. Muhammad Yunus described the recent attack on Inqilab Mancha Spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi as a direct assault on Bangladesh’s existence and democratic progress.
Speaking to the nation on Victory Day on Tuesday (December 16), he vowed that those behind the conspiracy would not be spared.
Dr. Yunus expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stressing that the attack was not a personal matter but an attempt to hinder the country’s democratic trajectory.
Sharif Osman Hadi remains in critical condition and has been sent to Singapore for advanced medical care. The Chief Adviser urged citizens to pray for his swift recovery.
The government has treated the attack with utmost seriousness and has already identified key suspects. Dr. Yunus emphasised that all involved, regardless of their location, will be brought to justice.
He warned that attempts by defeated fascist and terrorist forces to disrupt democracy through fear or violence will fail.
Concluding his address, Dr. Yunus appealed for public restraint, urging citizens not to fall for rumours or misinformation. He called for unity in countering destabilising forces, asserting that the defeated fascist elements would never return to Bangladesh.
