Attempts being made to create controversy over property transfer law: Law Minister

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman has said that some people are trying to create controversy over a law. That is the property transfer law. "We have brought amendments to this law. The amendment has been brought especially to ensure the security of the elderly and mothers," he said.

He made these remarks as chief guest at the closing ceremony of a job fair held at the PTI hall room in Jashore on Saturday afternoon, September 12.

The Microcredit Regulatory Authority organised the job fair under the theme 'Let careers be in the microfinance sector, let contributions be to the country's development'.

The minister said the microfinance sector is playing an important role in the country's economic development and employment generation. Alongside employment for the youth, there are opportunities in this sector to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country's people.

The event was presided over by Executive Vice Chairman of the Microcredit Regulatory Authority Professor Dr Mohammad Helal Uddin. Jashore District Council Administrator Delwar Hossain Khokon, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashek Hasan, Superintendent of Police Syed Rafiqul Islam, Executive Director of Jagorani Chakra Foundation Marina Akter and senior officials of various institutions participating in the job fair were present.

A total of 37 microfinance institutions participated in the day-long job fair. A total of 22,000 applications were submitted for jobs in these institutions. Of them, 1,115 people were given jobs. Those who received jobs collected their appointment letters from the chief guest at the event.
