Australia reaffirms support for climate-resilient agriculture in Bangladesh

Australia has reiterated its commitment to strengthening climate-resilient agriculture and food systems in Bangladesh, particularly in climate-vulnerable coastal regions.

Deputy High Commissioner Clinton Pobke gave the assurance while addressing a workshop in Dhaka this week, the Australian High Commission said in a statement Wednesday (September 24).

The workshop highlighted projects funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and supported by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), focusing on resilient crop production and sustainable farming in saline-prone coastal areas.

Pobke stressed that Australia will continue its collaboration to mitigate environmental degradation, boost productivity, and ensure long-term food security.
