Auto-rickshaw driver electrocuted to death in Hazaribagh
An auto-rickshaw driver named Abdur Rahman, 55, died after being electrocuted while plugging in his vehicle for charging in the capital's Hazaribagh area.
The accident took place around 2:15pm at an auto-rickshaw garage located on Moneshwar Road under Hazaribagh Police Station on Thursday.
According to the garage owner, Md. Arif Hossain, Rahman was attempting to connect his auto-rickshaw to a charger when he inadvertently came into contact with a live line and suffered severe electric shock. He was rescued and rushed to the Emergency Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where attending doctors pronounced him dead at around 3:15pm.
The deceased was originally from Naogaon district and the son of Abdur Rokib. He resided on Moneshwar Road in Hazaribagh.
Officer-in-Charge of the DMCH Police Outpost, Faruk, confirmed the death and stated that the body has been kept at the hospital emergency mortuary.
