Awami League banner burned by Swechasebak Dal in Rajshahi

Leaders and activists of Swechasebak Dal burned a banner hung in front of the vandalised office of Rajshahi Metropolitan Awami League.

The incident took place at around 12:30 pm on Saturday when Swechasebak Dal activists pulled down the banner, tore it apart and set it on fire.

Locals said a banner reading “Bangladesh Awami League Rajshahi Metropolitan branch office inaugurated” had been hung in front of the damaged Kumarpara metropolitan Awami League office. After the matter became known, Swechasebak Dal leaders and activists arrived and burned the banner.

Deputy Police Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), CTTC (acting) and ADC (Crime and Ops and Media) Md Gaziur Rahman said unidentified individuals had hung the banner under the cover of night. Efforts are underway to identify them by reviewing nearby CCTV footage.
