Awami League is not dead, impossible to end: Joy
Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of former Prime Minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina, has said democracy and elections are not possible without the Awami League.
He made these remarks in a video message posted on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday (August 7).
Joy said, "The Awami League is not dead. Awami League will not go anywhere; it will not end."
He also condemned the ongoing attacks on ordinary citizens, grassroots leaders and activists of the Awami League, and members of the minority community.
Addressing the violence, he said, "We cannot remain idle in the face of attacks on ordinary people. The family of Bangabandhu stands with the people of Bangladesh."
Calling on Awami League leaders and activists to reconsider their position, Joy said, "You are not alone; we stand with you. The Bangabandhu family is still here and ready to protect our leaders and workers."
“The Awami League aims for a democratic Bangladesh free from militancy and is ready to discuss with everyone,” he added.
