Press secretary to chief adviser, Shafiqul Alam said that Awami League is spreading propaganda against the chief adviser of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus. The Indian media is also involved in this. They are trying to convince the whole world that what happened in Bangladesh was not actually a mass uprising. It is a big conspiracy.’

He said this at the publication ceremony of a book titled ‘Droher Graffiti”, a book on the 2024 mass uprising' at the National Press Club in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

He said, ‘Those who think that the revolution is 21 days of July-August, are wrong. Before that, there was a struggle for 15 years. We have to struggle for another 15 years. We will stop for a while, they will try to raise their heads again. So that this does not happen.’

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was the chief guest at the book launch ceremony of journalist GM Rajib Hossain. It was presided over by National Press Club President Hasan Hafiz. Stating that the Awami League, which was ousted in the July mass uprising, is carrying out propaganda, he further said that crores of dollars are being spent to present Professor Yunus as a ‘militant leader’. The Indian media is involved in this.

The press secretary said that during the 15 years of the Awami League government, no research or writings were published on the 1974 famine. Aftab Ahmed, who took the photo of Basanti, died mysteriously. No one investigated. 30,000 people died at the hands of the Rakshi Bahini. For 15 years, there has been an attempt to erase history and impose a new history. The main tool of exploitation is to forget history. The oppressor has claimed that he is a victim of oppression.

Shafiqul Alam said, "Our job is to highlight the horrors of the 15 years through research. We will hold seminars in every campus. We will write the injustices he has done on every wall so that the dictatorship that has fallen in Bangladesh and its associates cannot return. We have to do this."
