Bangladeshi mountaineer Babar Ali has made history by summiting Mount Manaslu (8,163 meters), the eighth highest peak in the world, without the aid of artificial oxygen.

He reached the summit at 4:45am (Bangladesh Time) on September 26, marking the first time a Bangladeshi has conquered an 8,000-meter peak without supplementary oxygen.

Babar Ali was accompanied by his long-time climbing partner, Bire Tamang, during the ascent. Alongside him, Bangladeshi climbers Tanvir Ahmed and Taufique Ahmed Tamal also reached the summit.

Manaslu, located in the Nepalese Himalayas, is known for its danger and challenging conditions, ranking as the fourth most lethal peak in the world.

Babar Ali's achievement adds another milestone to his career, after becoming the sixth Bangladeshi to summit Mount Everest in 2024. This remarkable feat further establishes Bangladesh’s growing presence in the global mountaineering community.
