Babar leaves for Saudi Arabia after getting treatment in Dubai
Recently released former State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfuzzaman Babar suddenly fell ill on his way to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. When the flight carrying him landed in Dubai, he underwent treatment there for about eight hours. Later, he left for Jeddah on Emirates Airlines flight EK 803 from Dubai Terminal 3 at 3:45 pm on Friday.
At that time, his son Labib bin Zaman and Moulvibazar District BNP Member Secretary Abdur Rahim Ripon were with him. He is scheduled to reach Jeddah at 5:50 pm local time in Saudi Arabia. Family members are waiting for him at Jeddah airport.
Earlier on Thursday, he suddenly experienced severe breathing difficulties on Emirates Airlines while on his way to Jeddah with his family from Dhaka. Later, after the plane landed in Dubai, he was taken to a clinic near the airport. The doctors there recommended hospitalization after conducting tests. He was taken to the emergency department of the Dubai Hospital at 3 am local time. At that time, United Arab Emirates BNP convener Zakir Hossain went to see him.
United Arab Emirates BNP convener Zakir Hossain said that Lutfuzzaman Babar received treatment in the emergency department of the Dubai Hospital for about 8 hours. There, doctors kept him in intensive care. When he felt well on Friday afternoon, he was allowed to go to Saudi Arabia. Later in the afternoon, he left Dubai for Jeddah on an Emirates Airlines flight.
