Ballot papers to reach polling centers from Wednesday morning: EC

Ballot papers for the 13th National Parliamentary Election have been distributed from districts to upazilas and will start reaching individual polling centers from Wednesday morning, according to the Election Commission (EC).

EC Commissioner Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah announced the update at a press conference at the Election Bhaban in Agargaon on Tuesday (February 10).

He said preparations for the election are nearly complete. Voting will be held in 299 parliamentary constituencies from 7:30am to 4:30pm, with 2,028 candidates, including 81 women, contesting.

The country has 12.77 lakh registered voters, with almost equal numbers of men and women.

For election monitoring, 45,313 domestic observers and 350 foreign observers will be present, along with 156 registered foreign journalists.

To maintain law and order, a total of 958,000 security personnel will be deployed across the country.
