The Bandarban district administration has extended its ban on tourist travel until July 15, citing ongoing heavy rainfall and the risk of further natural disasters.

In an emergency notice issued on Friday ( July 10), Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Saniul Ferdous announced that all tourist activities across the hill district will remain suspended as adverse weather continues to threaten public safety.

The restriction, which was previously in force until Friday, has now been extended after authorities warned of possible disruptions to road communication and an increased risk of landslides and other weather-related hazards.

Under the directive, all tourist destinations, waterfalls, hill trails, river routes, remote areas and other high-risk locations across Bandarban will remain closed to tourists and the general public until July 15.

The district administration urged visitors to refrain from travelling to Bandarban during the period and advised everyone to follow official safety instructions until the weather situation improves.
