Daily transactions through Bangla QR have surged rapidly following the introduction of the 'One Nation, One QR' system, crossing Tk 110.38 crore on average over the past week. During the same period, the daily average number of transactions rose to nearly 303,000, according to a press release issued on Sunday.

Under the 'One Nation, One QR' initiative, the use of a single Bangla QR code instead of various proprietary QR codes was made mandatory in Bangladesh starting July 1.

At the beginning of July, daily transactions through Bangla QR averaged around 178,000, with an average financial volume of approximately Tk 37.33 crore per day.

Over the past week, however, the average daily transaction volume nearly doubled to around 303,000. Simultaneously, the daily average transaction value tripled to reach Tk 110.38 crore.
The number of merchants using Bangla QR has also grown significantly. As of July 21, the merchant base expanded from nearly 1.6 million to over 3 million. State-owned banks, alongside private commercial banks, are actively contributing to the expansion of Bangla QR services.

The rise in Bangla QR usage is expected to further expand digital payments in the country, fostering a simple, efficient, and broadly accessible digital transaction system.
