Banglabandha Land Port reopened on Monday, following the withdrawal of the strike by officials and employees of the National Board of Revenue (NBR). All port activities have now resumed.

On-site reports confirm that all trucks previously stranded at the port have begun departing. Since this morning, customs officials and staff at Banglabandha Land Port have returned to work after ending their complete shutdown.

Akteruzzaman, President of the Banglabandha Workers’ Union, stated that the complete shutdown caused significant losses for workers. Additionally, clearing and forwarding (C&F) agents and transport personnel were also adversely affected. Workers resumed their duties this morning.

Jahangir Alam, General Secretary of the Banglabandha Land Port C&F Association, explained that the port remained closed for two days due to the NBR officials’ strike. Although trucks carrying imported goods arrived during this period, they were stuck due to a lack of clearance. Following the withdrawal of the strike last night, import and export activities have recommenced.
