Bangladesh Bank joint director found dead at Chattogram home
Bangladesh Bank Joint Director Mohammad Sayedur Rahman was found dead at his home in Halishahar of Chattogram.
Police recovered his body at around 9pm from his residence in the Ramna Residential Area of North Agrabad on Wednesday night (September 2).
According to his colleagues, Sayedur Rahman, 55, attended a meeting at his workplace until around 6pm and appeared normal and cheerful at the time.
Police and colleagues said his wife had gone to a doctor with their grandchild in the evening. Sayedur reportedly asked her to return home quickly. When she returned, she found him hanging inside the residence and alerted others.
Police from Halishahar Police Station later went to the house and recovered the body.
Sayedur was promoted to the position of joint director at Bangladesh Bank around two years ago. He was the father of three daughters. His eldest daughter is an engineer, his middle daughter is a doctor, and his youngest is studying medicine.
Halishahar police said they were investigating the incident. The circumstances surrounding his death and other details will become clearer after the investigation.
