Bangladesh Bank revises banking hours for Ramadan
Bangladesh Bank has announced revised office and transaction hours for all scheduled banks across the country during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
According to a circular issued on Tuesday (February 10) by the Supervisory Data Management and Analytics Department, banking transactions will be conducted from 9:30am to 2:30pm, while office hours will run from 9:30am to 4:00pm.
The circular also stated that banks will observe a 15-minute break from 1:15pm to 1:30pm for Zuhr prayers, during which alternative arrangements must be made to continue banking operations.
Normally, banking transactions take place from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and office hours run from 10:00am to 6:00pm. The central bank adjusts the schedule annually during Ramadan.
The new timings will remain in effect throughout Ramadan and revert to the regular schedule after the month concludes.
