Bangladesh Bank's net profit Tk 22,600 crore for FY2024-25

Bangladesh Bank’s net profit for the 2024-25 financial year rose to Tk 22,600 crore after excluding ancillary expenses and taxes.

In the mentioned fiscal year, Bangladesh Bank's profit stood at about Tk 33,000 crore, said Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Dr. Habibur Rahman.

He said that Bangladesh Bank has made significantly more profit this time compared to the last fiscal year.

According to central bank sources, the bank's total profit in the 2023-24 fiscal year was about Tk 40,000 crore, of which the net profit was Tk 15,300 crore. That is, the net profit has increased by about Tk 7,300 crore in just one year.

On Tuesday (August 26), the 443rd meeting of directors held in the meeting room of Bangladesh Bank under the chairmanship of Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur approved the financial statements of the last fiscal year.

According to the statement, the net profit of Tk 22,600 crore earned from the income of the 2024-25 fiscal year will be transferred to the government treasury. In the previous fiscal year, Tk 10,652 crore was given to the government. In addition, an incentive bonus of six times the basic salary of Bangladesh Bank officials has also been approved from a part of the net profit.

The central bank's net profit in the 2022-23 fiscal year was Tk 10,748 crore.
