Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has commented on the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and hall parliament elections. In a status posted on his Facebook page, he wrote: “Through DUCSU, Bangladesh has boarded the election train.”

Shortly after voting began at 8am on Tuesday (September 9), he added in another message: “Next will come the train of the national election. Election Mubarak to all!”

On the subject of elections, Adviser Farooki said: “If voting can be completed overnight, why was it kept until daytime? One of the nation’s greatest weaknesses is failing to do things on time. On the occasion of DUCSU, the mother of 'Lailatul Election', the bank looters, the masterminds of disappearances, the chief planners of the BDR-Pilkhana-July massacre, the biggest anti-liberation force in Bangladesh — killer Hasina — has remained silent.”

It is to be noted that voting for the DUCSU and hall parliament elections began at 8am today and will continue uninterrupted until 4pm.
