Bangladesh condemns Israel for blocking Gaza-bound humanitarian flotillal

Bangladesh has strongly condemned Israel’s navy for blocking the Global Sumud flotilla, carrying humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, in international waters.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, the government described the incident as a “blatant violation of international law.” It criticized Israel for using hunger as a weapon of war, calling the move “shameless and unacceptable.”

The Bangladeshi government demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the detained humanitarian workers. It also urged Israel to end its illegal occupation of Gaza and the West Bank and to adhere to international humanitarian law.

The Ministry highlighted that the flotilla represents a symbol of global solidarity with the Palestinian people living under occupation.
