Bangladesh Deputy High Commission Press Secretary in Kolkata meets Tarique Rahman
Tarique Choyon, press secretary of the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, met with Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman.
In a post on his verified Facebook account on Friday (January 9), Choyon confirmed about the meeting.
According to Choyon, he held two face-to-face discussions with Rahman, including one on Thursday night. He noted that despite Rahman’s long exile and the challenges of living abroad, his mental resilience remains strong and he continues to demonstrate unwavering commitment to the country and democracy.
Choyon also highlighted that Tarique Rahman endured personal losses, including the deaths of his mother and brother, while leading the movement for democracy under autocratic rule. He wished Tarique Rahman a speedy recovery and prayed for his strength and patience.
Earlier, on January 4, Choyon signed the condolence book at BNP’s political office in Gulshan following the passing of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
