Bangladesh embassy issues fresh travel advisory to visit Nepal

The Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu has urged Bangladeshi tourists and trekkers to avoid areas of Nepal affected by heavy rainfall, floods and landslides until weather and road conditions improve.

In an advisory issued Sunday night (September 27), the embassy urged travellers to exercise extra caution in Pisang, Chame, Manang and surrounding tourist areas, where continued rain and snowfall have triggered landslides and disrupted road communications.

Trekking activities have already been suspended in several parts of Manang, including Tilicho Lake, Thorong La Pass, Ice Lake, Kang La and Bhimthang.

The embassy also advised caution when travelling to Pokhara and nearby trekking destinations, where landslides have disrupted road links. Travellers heading to Mustang, Jomsom and other mountainous areas were advised to check road conditions across Gandaki Province before setting out, as routes may be cut off at short notice.

Bangladeshi citizens planning trekking, mountaineering or travel in the Annapurna, Manang, Mustang and Manaslu regions were advised to verify weather and travel information and follow instructions from Nepalese authorities.

Those already in risk-prone areas should stay in safe locations, avoid riverbanks and landslide-prone areas, check road and weather conditions before travelling, and remain in contact with tour operators and the embassy.

The embassy said it is monitoring the situation in coordination with Nepalese authorities and will issue further updates if necessary.
