The interim government has called in Bangladesh High Commissioner in New Delhi, India, Riaz Hamidullah to Dhaka on an emergency basis.

A source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that he arrived in Dhaka on Monday night after receiving the call.

Sources said that he was called to Dhaka to get a detailed and direct understanding of the recent situation in bilateral relations with India.

Recently, Bangladesh-India relations have been under new pressure due to the murders of Inqilab Mancha convener Sharif Osman Hadi and garment factory worker Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh.

There have also been incidents of attacks and vandalism at various Bangladesh missions in India. In view of this, visa and consular services of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka and the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala were temporarily suspended. At the same time, an attack was carried out on a Bangladesh visa center in Siliguri, West Bengal, alleging persecution of minorities. Bangladesh later closed the visa center indefinitely. In addition, there was an attack on the Indian Assistant High Commission in Chattogram.

These incidents have led to the reciprocal summons of the high commissioners of the two countries in Dhaka and Delhi, creating new tensions in bilateral relations. In just two weeks, Bangladesh and India have summoned each other's diplomats twice to express their protest and concerns on various issues.
