Bangladesh hosts first EHA-HSB Haematology tutorial

For the first time in Bangladesh, the European Haematology Association (EHA) and the Haematology Society of Bangladesh (HSB) jointly organised an international haematology tutorial. The two-day scientific conference was held at a Dhaka hotel on 3–4 October with 15 international experts and 213 local haematologists and trainees in attendance.

Discussions focused on complex haematological diseases, including myeloid and lymphoid malignancies, B-cell and T/NK-cell lymphomas, Hodgkin lymphoma, and acute and chronic leukaemia. International specialists shared advanced diagnostic protocols and treatment methods, while local experts presented challenging clinical cases.

Speakers noted that the incidence of blood cancers and related disorders is increasing in Bangladesh. They stressed the importance of early diagnosis and modern treatment to improve survival rates and highlighted that international tutorials are vital for young doctors.
