Bangladesh has advanced three positions in the latest Henley Passport Index, a global ranking of the world’s most powerful passports. According to the recent quarterly update, Bangladesh now ranks 94th, up from 97th last year.

The index reveals that Bangladeshi passport holders can now travel visa-free to 39 countries, reflecting a notable improvement in international travel freedom.

The Henley Passport Index, published by Henley & Partners, ranks passports based on the number of countries their holders can access without a visa.

Singapore retains the top spot this year as the sole leader, with its passport holders enjoying visa-free access to 193 countries. Last year, six countries — France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain — shared the number one ranking.

Japan and South Korea occupy second place, offering visa-free travel to 190 countries. The third position is shared by Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain, whose passport holders can enter 189 countries without a visa.

Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden are ranked fourth with visa-free access to 188 countries. Greece, New Zealand, and Switzerland hold fifth place, allowing entry to 187 countries.

The United Kingdom is ranked sixth, followed by Australia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Malta, and Poland at seventh place. Canada, Estonia, and the United Arab Emirates are eighth; Croatia, Latvia, Slovakia, and Slovenia are ninth; and Iceland, Lithuania, and the United States are tenth.

The Henley Passport Index assesses 199 passports and 227 travel destinations worldwide.
