Bangladesh not divided by religion or race: Chief Adviser
Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has said that Bangladesh belongs to everyone and is a safe and peaceful homeland for all people, without any division based on religion or race.
In a message marking Saraswati Puja, the Chief Adviser extended heartfelt greetings and congratulations to members of the Hindu community, saying that Bangladesh is a shining example of communal harmony. He said that for thousands of years, people of all religions, races and communities have lived together in mutual respect and harmony in this land.
He said that, according to Hindu belief, Goddess Saraswati symbolises truth, justice and knowledge, and is the presiding deity of learning, speech and music. He added that Saraswati guides people from the darkness of ignorance to the path of light.
On the occasion of the sacred festival of Saraswati Puja, the Chief Adviser expressed the hope that education would not be limited to personal advancement alone, but would also serve the betterment of society. He said people should use their knowledge to help others, stand beside the vulnerable and work towards building a just and beautiful society.
He wished peace, welfare and prosperity for all citizens of Bangladesh, including members of the Hindu community.
