Bangladesh, Oman sign MoU to boost diplomatic training
Bangladesh and Oman have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in diplomatic training and studies, officials said Thursday. The agreement aims to enhance professional expertise and capacity-building within the two countries’ foreign services.
The MoU was signed following a meeting between Bangladesh Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain and Oman Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi on the sidelines of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, according to a press release issued in Dhaka.
During the talks, both leaders highlighted the long-standing and friendly ties between the two nations and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Adviser Hossain expressed gratitude to Oman for hosting around 700,000 Bangladeshi expatriate workers and requested the recruitment of additional manpower aligned with Omani labour market needs.
The MoU, signed between the Foreign Service Academy of Bangladesh and the Diplomatic Academy of Oman, will facilitate collaboration in diplomatic studies, training, and the exchange of expertise. Officials said it is expected to strengthen diplomatic engagement and foster closer ties between the two countries.
