The return flight of the Bangladesh National Football Team from Nepal has been cancelled due to Gen-Z protests in the country. The team was scheduled to fly back at 3:00 pm on Tuesday but could not leave their hotel.

Team Manager Amer Khan told Bangladeshi media that protesters had gathered in front of their hotel, preventing the team from heading towards the airport. As a result, their flight was cancelled.

In Nepal, the Gen-Z movement has been staging demonstrations against government corruption and the ban on social media. While the protest remained outside Thamel on Monday, on Tuesday demonstrators occupied the streets of Thamel. Protesters also confined police officers inside a station near Muslim Chowk in Thamel, threw bricks at buildings, and set tyres ablaze to block roads.

Amidst this unrest, the country’s communication system has been virtually paralysed. So far, 19 people have been killed, and three ministers, including the Home Minister, have resigned.
