Bangladesh to play first match against India in U-19 World Cup on January 17
The ICC U-19 World Cup is going to be held in Zimbabwe next year. The tournament will run from January 15 to February 6, 2026. Bangladesh will play their first match against India in the competition on January 17.
The other two matches are against New Zealand and the United States.
The World Cup will start with the United States and India match. There will be four teams in four groups in the 16-team competition. There will be 41 matches in 23 days.
On the first day, Zimbabwe and Scotland and the debutant team Tanzania and the West Indies will face each other. Japan, which played in the 2020 Bangladesh championship, is also returning to this World Cup.
The Bangladesh vs India match will be held in Bulawayo on January 17. Three days later, on January 20, the young tigers will face New Zealand at the same venue. They will play the United States in the last match of the group on January 23.
The 16 teams have been divided into a total of four groups. Group 'A' includes Bangladesh, India, the United States and New Zealand.
Group B features co-hosts Zimbabwe, Pakistan, England and Scotland. Group C features defending champions Australia alongside Ireland, Japan and Sri Lanka. Group D features Tanzania, West Indies, Afghanistan and South Africa.
The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Sixes. The 12 teams will be divided into two groups. The top two teams from Group 1 and Group 2 will play in the semi-finals.
