Bangladesh to relocate embassy staff from Tehran amid Iran-Israel tensions
Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, the Government of Bangladesh has decided to relocate its embassy staff in Tehran to a safer location, citing growing security concerns.
Diplomatic sources confirm that the Bangladesh mission in Tehran is closely monitoring the situation and is in regular contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka. The current embassy building is considered vulnerable, as it is located just one kilometer from Tehran University’s first nuclear research facility — a site recently targeted in an attack.
Additionally, the embassy is near one of Tehran’s major internet hubs, raising fears that it could be affected by potential strikes on key infrastructure. Embassy staff have reportedly expressed concerns for their safety.
In response to the situation, the Bangladesh Embassy has launched a hotline to assist Bangladeshi nationals living in Iran. A special advisory was issued on Sunday with emergency contact details.
Emergency Contact Information:
Bangladesh Embassy, Tehran (Hotline – including WhatsApp):
+98 9908577368
+98 9122065745
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka (Hotline):

According to official estimates, fewer than 2,000 Bangladeshi nationals are currently registered as residents in Iran.
