Bangladesh, US reaffirm commitment to strengthen economic partnership

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke by phone with Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus on Monday evening, during which both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening economic relations between the two nations.

The US Secretary of State and the Chief Adviser also reiterated their mutual commitment to promoting security and stability across the Indo-Pacific region.

“The Secretary and Chief Adviser affirmed their shared commitment to deepening economic ties between the United States and Bangladesh and to enhancing security and stability throughout the Indo-Pacific region,” said Spokesperson at the US Department Tammy Bruce after the telephone conversation.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said that the telephone conversation took place at 7:30pm on Monday.

He described the 15-minute discussion as warm, cordial, and constructive, highlighting the strong bilateral engagement between the two countries.
