Bangladesh welcomes Middle East ceasefire

Bangladesh has welcomed the temporary ceasefire in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. At the same time, the government has described this initiative as a positive and encouraging development towards easing tensions.

The Foreign Ministry said this in a statement on Wednesday (April 8).

The statement said that Bangladesh hopes that all parties concerned will duly abide by the ceasefire and use it to move towards a sustainable and stable solution. It also said that it is necessary to strengthen efforts to restore lasting peace and stability in the region by utilizing this opportunity.

The Foreign Ministry appreciated all diplomatic initiatives that played a role in implementing the ceasefire.

In the statement, Bangladesh reiterated that any dispute should be resolved peacefully through dialogue and diplomacy. The country expressed the hope that the parties concerned will act responsibly and play an effective role in ending the conflict.
