Bangladeshi businessman shot dead in South Africa

Bangladeshi businessman Sumon Mia, 34, was shot dead by terrorists in South Africa. His home is in the Abirampur Paschimpara area of ​​Banshil Union in Mirzapur Upazila of Tangail.

Mirzapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the matter.

According to local sources, Sumon Mia went to South Africa about 14 years ago in search of livelihood. He used to do business in an area near Newcastle City.

Miscreants stopped his car on the road and opened fire on Saturday (May 9). He was killed on the spot. Later, the local police recovered his body.

The deceased's father, Moiz Uddin, said that Sumon's acquaintances in South Africa called and informed the family members of the bad news. He said that his body could be brought to the country next Tuesday.

Sumon was the youngest of seven siblings. He is survived by his wife and a two-year-old son. The news of his death has brought an atmosphere of mourning in the area.
