Bangladeshi clothes sold with Indian stickers, shops fined Tk 1.25 lakh
The National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate has conducted an operation in Teri Bazar, Chattogram, fining three shops a total of Tk 125,000. The operation was carried out on Saturday afternoon.
Deputy Director Mohammad Faiz Ullah led the operation.
He informed that an establishment named 'Rajasthan' adjacent to Teri Bazar was fined Tk 100,000 for selling Bangladeshi clothes with Indian stickers attached.
Two other establishments were also found violating consumer rights. 'Khajana' was fined Tk 15,000 for selling products by placing new stickers over old ones to increase prices.
Additionally, 'Kudu' was fined Tk 10,000 for selling expired Iftar items and preparing and processing food in an unhygienic environment.
Assistant Directors Anisur Rahman, Mahmuda Akhter, and Rana Devnath were present during the operation.
