Two Bangladeshi students have secured first place in the 15th e-ICON World Contest, an international competition organised by South Korea’s Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity (KFFA).

Rayeen R Raad, a student of Dhaka's St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, and former student Awsaf Zaman Anam won the top award for their climate-focused mobile application, Climaker, developed under the theme of UN Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action.

The project, led by Anam with Rad handling development, was selected from 161 entries across 37 countries. Md. Nahian Hossain, a teacher at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, mentored the team throughout the process.

After advancing to the final 15, the Bangladeshi team collaborated with a Korean counterpart and presented their project live in South Korea, earning the highest recognition from the judges.

Professor Dr. Sanghe Lee of KAIST commended the project as a promising initiative in the global fight against climate change. KFFA Programme Manager So-hee Lee described the team’s presentation as "the most clear and powerful" in this year's contest.
