Bangladeshi shot dead in South Africa

A Bangladeshi businessman in South Africa was shot dead by miscreants on Saturday (January 27).

The deceased was identified as Nurul Huda alias Liton, 34, from Jagatpur village of Daganbhunya upazila of Feni.

The incident took place in front of the victim's business in Johannesburg on Saturday around 9.00 am Bangladesh time. Liton's younger brother Nurul Alam confirmed this to the media.

Belayet Hossain, chairman of Daganbhunya Sadar Union Parishad (UP), told the media that mourning started at Nurul Huda's house after hearing the news that he was shot dead by terrorists in South Africa. His elderly father Ebadul Haque, a retired government employee, demanded to bring his son's body to the country.

The UP Chairman also said that the preparations for bringing Huda's body are underway. According to the family source, Nurul Huda migrated to South Africa 12 years ago. In between, he came to the country twice and took his younger brother with him. He had two shops there.
