Bangladeshi stevedore missing from ship at Chattogram Port
A Bangladeshi stevedore named Yasin, 50, has gone missing from a ship anchored at the Alpha Anchorage of Chattogram Port.
He went missing from the vessel MV Crimson Grace at 11:37am on Sunday (August 16). As of 5:15pm, he remained untraced.
Chattogram Port authorities stated that following Yasin's disappearance, the incident was designated as a "man overboard" situation, and both the Bangladesh Navy and Coast Guard have been informed to assist in rescue operations.
Syed Refayet Shamim, Secretary of the Chattogram Port Authority, confirmed the matter, stating that continuous VHF broadcasts are being transmitted from the port's radio station to all nearby watercraft to help locate and rescue the missing worker.
Detailed information regarding how Yasin fell or went missing from the vessel was not immediately available. Search and rescue operations by relevant agencies are currently underway.
