Bangladeshi youth captured by Indian BSF at Chuadanga border
A 26-year-old Bangladeshi, Badruuddin, was reportedly taken into custody by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) from the Benipur border in Jibannagar Upazila.
Locals said Badruuddin, son of Abdul Karim of Schoolpara village, was returning from the border with a few others on Wednesday morning when BSF personnel from the Nonaganj camp chased the group. While the others managed to escape, Badruuddin was captured and later taken to the Nonaganj camp.
Former Benipur Union Parishad member Robiul Hossain confirmed the incident.
Lieutenant Colonel Rafiqul Alam (PSC), commander of Maheshpur-58 Battalion, told reporters, “We have learned from unofficial sources that a Bangladeshi was captured by the BSF. Efforts are underway to contact the BSF for clarification.”
