Bangladeshi youth killed in drone attack by Ukraine in Russia

A young Bangladeshi man has been killed in a drone attack by Ukraine while staying in Russia. His death has been confirmed citing local representatives and family members. The deceased, Muhibur Rahman, was a resident of Sampadpur village in Amtail union under Moulvibazar Sadar upazila.

Amtail Union Parishad member Md Iqbal Ahmed said the death has been confirmed based on information provided by the family. Muhibur initially went to Mexico for higher education, then moved to Russia after his visa was cancelled, where he had been living for the past few years.

The victim's younger brother, Habibur Rahman, said Muhibur had told the family that he worked as a cook in the Russian army. He returned home last year, got married, and went back to Russia after some time.

According to the family, Muhibur's colleague Mehdi Hasan, who lives in Russia, informed them of the death. He said Muhibur was killed in a Ukrainian drone attack on a bunker about a week ago.

Local sources said the family first received news of the death last Friday, but the information spread widely in the area last night. Neighbours have also confirmed the incident. However, it has not been possible to independently verify when or how the incident occurred.

Amtail Union Parishad Acting Chairman Md Mosahid Hossain said he learned of the matter through local representatives. Moulvibazar Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Saiful Islam also confirmed the information.

Muhibur Rahman was the sole earning member of his family. His relatives have demanded that the body be brought back to the country quickly. Family members have been reluctant to speak in detail due to grief over losing their loved one.
