Bangladesh-India relations could be better than before: Tarique Choyon
The relationship between Bangladesh and India could be better than anytime in the past, hoped Tariqul Islam Bhuiyan, alias Tarique Choyon, Press Secretary of the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata.
He said: "Many in India question whether India-Bangladesh relations will be the same as before. I counter them by asking, why the same as before! Why can't that relationship be better than before by maintaining mutual trust and respect? "
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the three-day (March 28-30) 5th International Digha Art Festival at Old Digha Sea Beach.
He said that art-culture, any creative subject, should be judged by quality, not quantity. He also reminded the policymakers of the two countries of the importance of cultural interaction in establishing people-to-people relations with the people of Bangladesh and India.

The organizing organization, Birendra Memorial Fine Art and Culture, was attended by Vishnu Maiti, Editor, Professor Joydeep Bhattacharya (Government College of Art and Craft, Agartala), Siddharth Shankar Dey (Guest Artist), Anupam Mondal (Guest Artist), Sukumar Manna, Subrata Manna (Guest Artist), Arun Jana (Guest Artist), Ashok Byabatya (Former Joint Secretary, Government of West Bengal), Dr. Partha Sarathi Das (Advisor Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya, Kolkata), Anirban Samanta (eminent social worker), Swarup Maiti (teacher and social worker), Chandan Karmakar (Head Clerk, Digha Shankarpur Development Authority), Kalpana Khan Mondal (eminent lawyer and social worker of the Supreme Court) and others.
