Bangladeshis can travel to 6 Asian countries without visa
Bangladeshi passport holders can now travel to six Asian countries without requiring a prior visa, according to the latest Henley Passport Index, released by UK-based global citizenship advisory firm Henley & Partners.
The six Asian countries offering visa-free access to Bangladeshi citizens are: Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste.
Overall, the Bangladeshi passport provides visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 39 destinations worldwide, the index revealed. The ranking is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and is updated quarterly.
While Bangladesh’s position on the global index remains relatively low compared to regional counterparts, the visa-free access to these Asian destinations offers increased mobility for Bangladeshi travelers, especially for tourism and business.
Henley & Partners' index is widely regarded as an authoritative ranking of the world’s most powerful passports, based on the number of destinations holders can access without a visa.
